About Kitchen Accessories
Our kitchen textiles,(aprons, dishcloths oven gloves, oven pads and towels), are sourced from a Swedish company - Klippan . It is important for us to have a good sense of where our items are from, to know that the suppliers are established - so here is their background:
A family run business, Klippan Yllefabrik was started when Jens Petter Magnusson bought a wool spinning mill at Klippan, Sweden in 1879. The business expanded steadily and Klippan Yllefabrik's main business was to manufacture and sell yarn for hand weaving and yarn for industrial use until the 1980's. During the 1970's Klippan Yllefabrik was one of Scandinavia's most modern wool spinning plant with about 100 employees.
In the beginning of the 1990's Klippan Yllefabrik started to orient its business towards home textiles. To be able to manage the production and fully control the quality Klippan Yllefabrik bought a wool spinning and weaving plant in Latvia. The 100% owned subsidiary Klippan Saule today produces yarn, throws, blankets and fabrics
