Acolyte Home & Gifts is delighted to welcome eastanbul design, a new company based in the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey.

eastanbul design was recently formed by Kezban, Mert and Büşra; three friends with a real wish to produce quality hand made products which would not only delight but also convey the rich history behind each and every one of their products.

`We live in a world where consumerism is a major factor in our lives. Even though it is caused by revolutions in industry hence excess production, we believe just by consuming we would be guilty in this world`s demise. So as three friends we started thinking; how can we give back? What can we produce? Then we understood we can only achieve this by sharing; sharing the old with the new, sharing the east with the west, sharing what we know`.  Mert.

There are two core elements to eastanbul design`s overall product range; the first focuses on patchwork cushion covers and bags made from authentic Kilim rugs, each rich with Anatolian or Middle East designs. 

`Every item in the eastanbul design Collection is given a Turkish female name; this is not just because they are unique - we care for each product and we really care about our customers` happiness` - Mert.

The second element to eastandul design is the Meddah range - authentic Turkish gifting experiences which customers can either purchase to use in the comfort of their own homes or to give as memorable gifts to friends and family.

Named after the Meddah who were traditional story tellers from the days of the Ottoman Empire; each purchase from the Meddah range comes with a uniquely designed handbook which guides you through its origins and contains practical advice on how to best experience it.
