From their picturesque village location near Grantham in Lincolnshire, Helen and Simon Lindley design and create the most adorable bird boxes and we`re delighted to have them join us here on Acolyte Home & Gifts.
The couple who have been together for 25 years enjoyed making wooden products as gifts for family and friends so much that in 2008 they decided to branch out and Lindleywood was `born`.
All their previous experience and skills came into play to support their new business. Simon originally dealt in furniture repair and customer service; Helen brought her extensive experience of IT, customer service and business management. Her early experience of hand-finishing pine furniture from a previous life means that this all culminated in not only quality products but also a commitment to customer service which is entirely in line with our own.
About the Lindleys:
Who does what at Lindleywood? Well, Simon enjoys sawing the wood, and Helen loves painting which means that each bird box is hand built and painted by hand, including the personalisations which are also available on many items. We also love the fact that they continually bring out new designs, so watch this space.
Equal thought and care goes into the production process - the electricity used in their workshop is supplied from green sources, the European Redwood Pine used to construct the bird boxes are from sustainable forests and is highly suited to the manufacture of outdoor products. The paints used to decorate the bird boxes are low toxicity which means they`re safe for children, animals and, obviously, birds.
Packaging? Well, that`s also recycled and where new bubble wrap is needed, they use one which is bio-degradable which means it doesn`t pollute as it decomposes.
