About Iridescent Glass Design
From her Cambridgeshire based workshop, Louise Clark of Iridescent Glass Design designs and creates hand-made glassware; we're delighted that she has chosen to join Acolyte Home & Gifts with a dedicated Collection exclusively for us.
Louise studied at De Montford University and graduated with a BA Honours in Interior Design. As part of her studies, she learned the art of glass blowing and casting which had an immediate appeal; however her true love affair with glass began in 2009 whilst on holiday on the Greek Isle of Kefalonia -
'Whilst pottering around the buzzing streets of Argostoli, I came across a gorgeous shop called 'The Workshop'. At the back was a work area stacked with glass supplies and a huge kiln; there was also an array of beautifully hand-made glass items which I fell in love with. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do professionally with my life and it inspired me so much that I did a specialist course on glass fusing when I returned home. '
Iridescent Glass Design was 'born' in in late December 2009 and that inspirational moment from that holiday continues to have a lasting effect for Louise to this day.
'...the bright sunshine and the incredible clarity of the colours of the glass mixed with the colours of the mountains, the pine trees and the amazing ocean all stick in my mind. I love experimenting with the colours of nature and seeing how my glass comes to life in the sunlight - inspiration is all around us - we just need to capture it'.

We know you'll be delighted with your purchase from Iridescent Glass Design. Louise's enthusiasm shines through her work; indeed she admits
'I still get excited in the morning when something has been cooling overnight in the kiln and am often seen running to the workshop in my nightie and barefoot'.
