Based in Colchester, Genevieve is a full time author and collaborates with Suzanne Wilson who draws the beautiful illustrations for her books. 

With a Degree in Linguistics with Spanish, Genevieve taught children as a language teacher for many years and has used her experience to develop these fun and enjoyable stories as a way to teach Spanish to young children using stories which are predominantly written in English and have Spanish vocabulary slipped into context. And with a handy pronunciation guide included in the back of each book, you can make sure that the words are spoken correctly.

`Children learn quicker when they start earlier` says Genevieve.

`They lack inhibition and soak it up like a sponge. However, many bilingual books I researched are very hard to follow for a child and for a parent. I wanted to create something that grabbed children`s interest and to make language learning fun. I`ve seen at first hand bilingual children not noticing as they swop languages when speaking with parents and friends`.

Genevieve promotes her books (first published in June 2011) with story time sessions across the country in pre-schools, schools and libraries and enjoys seeing how children react to the concept.

`The little people in my sessions love being shown a new language. When they pick it up so quickly right in front of me, it reminds me why I work so hard and feel so passionate about it.`
