Samaritans is a confidential emotional support service, founded by the late Dr Chad Varah in 1953. It is available 24/7 for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
Our volunteers offer support by responding to phone calls, emails and letters. We also offer face to face meetings at our branches.

The Dogs Trust
Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Our mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
Each year we care for around 16,000 dogs at our nationwide network of 17 Rehoming Centres. No healthy dog is ever destroyed.
We run subsidised neutering campaigns in areas of the UK with the most acute stray dog problems.
Our FREEDOM Project helps pet owners who are fleeing domestic violence by fostering their animals while they start a new life.
The HOPE Project gives preventative veterinary care to dogs belonging to homeless people.
All our work is funded by public generosity. So, if you love dogs, please make a donation today.

Survival rates have doubled in the last thirty years and Cancer Research UK has been at the heart of that progress. But one in three of us will still get cancer at some point and Cancer Research UK's vital work, funded entirely by the public, will help ensure that millions more people will survive.
